Who we are

Trades Help is a community where tradespeople post photos of jobs they're stuck on and get advice from other trades. Contact us at support@tradeshelp.co.uk.

What we collect

• Account details: email address or phone number, and your password (encrypted).
• Profile details: display name, trade, years of experience, town or area, avatar.
• Content you create: job posts, photos, replies, likes and private messages.
• Verification documents, if you choose to apply for a verified badge.
• Basic technical data such as device type and log data needed to run the service.

How we use it

To operate your account, show your posts and replies to the community, deliver private messages and notifications, verify trade credentials, prevent abuse and fraud, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

What others can see

Your display name, avatar, trade, area, posts, replies and verified status are public. Your email address, phone number, verification documents and private messages are not.

Storage and security

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Uploaded photos and documents are held in private storage and served through short-lived signed links. Access is restricted by per-user security rules.

Your rights

You can access and edit your profile at any time, block or report other members, and permanently delete your account from the Profile screen. Deletion removes your profile, posts, replies, messages and uploaded photos. Under UK GDPR you can also request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it by emailing support@tradeshelp.co.uk. You may complain to the ICO if you're unhappy with how we handle your data.

Children

Trades Help is for working tradespeople and is not intended for under-16s.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
